2010 Oberammergau Passion Play

Travel with your group to see the Oberammergau Passion Play! The Passion Play, which depicts the life and death of Jesus, is a tradition that dates back to 1634. The villagers of Oberammergau vowed to God to perform the play if they were spared from the effects of the bubonic plague and since then have put on the play every 10 years.

The play is put on over a period of 5 months and involves over 2,000 performers, all of whom live in the village. The seven hour performance (meals are served during intermission) also includes musical accompaniment and scenes from the Old Testament depicted by motionless actors.
